A couple months later, the heroes visit the tower they were teleported from and meet the Mothman there. He tells them the location of the Thrixl base and urges them to hurry there. This is a timed chapter in which the Thrixl will periodically turn villagers into Unresting Ones, a Thrixl monster exclusive to this campaign. By defeating thrixl tiles more time will be added and more villagers will be rescued. The chapter starts with 37 villagers, the amount that can be rescued on the overland is 17, and by arriving at the thrixl base there is the option to rescue the last 5 survivors, for a total of 59 survivors, plus at least three that can never be rescued.
At the end of chapter 2 there are 4 rewards that can be earned.
+3 Legacy Points for completing the chapter.
+1 Health to Company for 33 survivors.
+1 Potency to Company for 41 survivors.
+1 Speed to Company for 51 survivors.
Before the attack, the Mothman explains that in this base resides a Glimrseen, a portal to the Thrixl world, which the Thrixl appear to be taking the villagers into. One of the rescued survivors will be a little girl called Elsee Arcwright and mentions that her sister Eluna went through the portal with confidence, but not eagerness like the others.

In the beginning of chapter 3 one of the heroes eligible for Mothly will be chosen for the transformation. If none of the heroes fill the requirements then the game will automatically spawn in a new hero. This hero will somehow enter a dreamworld and meet with Eluna, the missing sister from chapter 2. The hero then returns to their bed and comes back in the flesh to rescue her. The task will be to head to the site where the missing hero is and on arrival what happened to the hero is revealed. The hero met with Eluna in Terrafract, the Thrixl world, and was surprised at Eluna’s freedom and strength. Eluna tried to say that she managed to free herself, but the Mothman arrived and unmasked her as a Thrixl. In return, she accused him of being the cause of the Thrixl menace. She then proclaimed that she wants the hero to join her as a leader in her realm, which she wants to envelop the earth. However, she wants the world to be mostly made of Terrafract, which means most non-mystics will die or turn into monsters. The Mothman then froze the three of them in time so that Eluna, who has named herself Ecthis, Queen of Light, can’t do anything to the hero. Back in the present, the heroes are forced to defend the inactive Mothly hero for 7 turns while Thrixl will keep on swarming. The hero then uses their ability to hide the party from the Thrixl so they can escape.

A strange light is emitted in the sky that could be a signal from the mothman. The heroes rush to the site only to be led to another light nearby. When they arrive there, they barely miss him and instead are ambushed by a horde of Thrixl. There is a choice to either escape with all heroes or to eliminate all monsters. Upon victory the heroes will follow a map towards a castle where they encounter the mothman getting attacked and fight against another horde of thrixl. After the battle, the Mothman explains his history. He fell into the Glimrseen and Terrafract transformed him into a moth form due to his self-image. On return, he was shunned by humans due to his appearance and eventually took to playing with the Thrixl. Envying his power, they attempted to replicate it by sending children through the Glimrseen. The Mothly hero at the end of the chapter will use their wings to cloak the whole castle to hide themselves from the thrixl.

While the heroes try to figure out a way to defeat the Thrixl queen they find a myth about a tower made by Kyoren heroes to cage Dunnaveer. It would remain locked until a hero of the bloodline of the builders opened it from the outside to face the beast. They realize that it could be used to cage Ecthis in forever. Eventually, they find a library occupied by Thrixl. After taking it back, the last overland tile hidden by the edge of the map is revealed as the Tower of Locks’ location. Upon investigating the tower, one of the siblings opens it, probably because they have the blood of the Kyoren heroes. The heroes are tasked to take out all Thrixl inside the tower including an ancient thrixl beast found in a backroom. After the heroes are done preparing, the Mothman reveals himself to Ecthis as bait and the Thrixl queen invades. The heroes are tasked to defend him and survive for 5 turns to lure out Ecthis. Once Ecthis joins the battle, Eluna, the Mothly hero, or a mystic will try to convince her to stop fighting, but Ecthis refuses. She will stand outside the tower and attack the heroes with ranged attacks. The heroes are forced to attack Eluna, irritating her by dealing damage to force her forward, until she enters the tower and goes into a showdown with the Mothman. All heroes will teleport next to the Mothman and have to kill all Thrixl inside the tower and escape to the outside to win. There are two choices at the end that influences how the Mothman and Eluna will spend their time of captivity in the Kyoren tower.
