The Lonely Cost (written by Douglas Austin) is an event in which the heroes seek out an exiled hermit in order to lift a curse from them.

Choices

1. "Are you feeling alright? We have to hurry".

2. "Something about this is just...weird. Let's think on it."

"Are you feeling alright? We have to hurry"

Choosing the first option leads the heroes to a forgotten tomb and another choice.

1. "Well...hate to say it, after we've come all this way, but...We can't rightly go and desecrate a hero's tomb." leads to a fight with the hermit (40 year old mystic).

2. " I know it's not right to desecrate the dead...but this is about preserving the living." leads to a calamity, improving your enemies.

"Something about this is just...weird. Let's think on it."

Trivia

-Facing the Mystic makes the heroes refer to the game as "Wildermyth". A metajoke about the game itself
