The Prisoner |
---|
Author |
Douglas Austin |
Event type |
Opportunity |
The heroes seek out an exiled hermit in order to lift a mysterious curse.
Choices
1."Are you feeling alright? We have to hurry!"
- Choosing this option leads to another choice.
- 1.1 "Well...hate to say it, after we've come all this way, but...We can't rightly go and desecrate a hero's tomb."
Outcome Return to the mystic empty-handed. The hero recognizes their voice as the one that had cast the curse. The mystic then reveals to be an evil overlord and that the whole thing was a plan to restore their power. After the explanation, a battle between the heroes and the mystic starts.
- 1.2 "I know it's not right to desecrate the dead...but this is about preserving the living."
Outcome Battle a spectral hero. Leads to a calamity, improving your enemies.
2."Something about this is just...weird. Let's think on it."
Outcome |
Decline the opportunity |
Trivia
Choosing Option 1.1 adds the following text to the hero's history:
She lived a long time beneath a curse, but at last buried it with the body of its caster.
And their companion obtains the following text in their history:
He helped lift a deathcurse on one of his company, foiling the plot of an ancient and evil conqueror and burning them with their cottage.
Facing the Mystic makes the heroes refer to the game as "Wildermyth". A metajoke about the game itself.
