Flamesoul is a Theme that can be gained by a Hero from the event Stories of Fire.
Fire twists inside <self>, just barely contained.
Theme conflicts
A Flamesoul hero will not be eligible for any of these additional themes: Beartouched, Botanical, Celestial, Child of the Hills, Crystalline, Deepist Spy, Elmsoul, Frogtouched, Frost, Gorgonoid, Mark of the Horn, Mortificial Enhancements, Shadow, Skeletal, Spell Touched, Sylvan, Vulture Acolyte, Wolftouched
If a hero has any of these themes, it is not possible to also become Flamesoul: Beartouched, Botanical, Celestial, Crystalline, Elmsoul, Frost, Shadow, Skeletal, Sylvan, Wolftouched
Without theme slot conflicts, a Flamesoul hero is still eligible for any of these additional themes: Crowtouched, Drauven Wings, Foxish, Hawksoul, Mothly, Petrified, Ratlike, Scorpioid, Skunkish, Stormtouched, Teeny Wings
Without theme slot conflicts, it is still possible for a hero with any of the following themes to also become Flamesoul: Child of the Hills, Crowtouched, Deepist Spy, Drauven Wings, Foxish, Frogtouched, Gorgonoid, Hawksoul, Mark of the Horn, Mortificial Enhancements, Mothly, Petrified, Ratlike, Scorpioid, Skunkish, Spell Touched, Stormtouched, Teeny Wings, Vulture Acolyte
The following theme slots will be transformed on initial acquisition of the theme: Left Arm (required to be available), Head (optional; may be already occupied by a non-conflicting theme)
Theme Upgrade
Living Hearth (Passive) <name> gains +1 Potency and +2 range to Cone of Fire when standing on the same tile as a blaze. |
Note: to use this ability, it must be selected as a theme upgrade upon hero promotion.
Requires Fire Arm (L) for Living Hearth to appear as an upgrade selection.
Specifics
The hero gains Fire Tattoo and their left arm is replaced by a Fire Arm. Their History will include:
<Hero's> inner passion drew him/her to a mysterious fire spirit, which now burns within his/her body and soul.
This theme is not affected by the Hero's colors.
This theme grants fire immunity.
Fire Tattoo
Sigils of fire burn on <self>'s brow.
In addition to the head tattoo, the hero's hair color changes and streaks appear in their hair.
Fire Arm (L)

Tips
- Flamesoul is one of the stronger themes for mystics with Vigorflow because (like Sylvan, Botanical, and Stormtouched) it offers a Vigorflow-boosted ranged attack that hits multiple targets. Flamesoul can be particularly convenient for Vigorflow because Cone of Fire creates Blazes, which are the ideal Vigorflow interfusion because they do not get destroyed.
- Flamesoul's Cone of Fire is similar to Botanical's Thorn Lash in that both are line attacks. However, Cone of Fire hits a slightly wider area than Thorn Lash when not aimed in a cardinal direction. Cone of Fire also has more aiming freedom because it always hits the full range even if a nearby tile is targeted; certain tile configurations can be hit by targeting an intermediate tile that cannot be hit by targeting a tile at maximum range. In practice, these effects mean that it is often significantly easier to hit multiple targets with Cone of Fire than with Thorn Lash.
