If you travel to the farm the farmer's widow will tell you about her courtship.

Romantic "Yes. I envy the bright ambition you shared, the love it must've taken to see it through..."
Pragmatic "You're hungry for more carrot stew!"

Outcome

The farm is attacked by monsters and the party receive a buff depending on the choices made.
