Monarchs Under the Mountain
Monarchs Under the Mountain is a five-chapter campaign with the Deepists as the main enemies.

Hero Generation
The campaign can be started with two legacy heroes, and one new hero. The new hero is the hero rescued in the first chapter. This hero has unique statistics, described in greater detail here.
Chapter 1
One of the Deepist recruits get saved by the heroes by the request of a concerned grandmother, leading them to form a new company of heroes.

A Deepist recruit wakes up deep underground to your two legacy heroes to be rescued. The first task is to escape the cave while fighting through respawning Deepists. Once done the Deepist recruit reunites with her grandmother which ends up with a lengthy scolding. Once the Deepist recruit finishes talking it out with her relatives she meets up with the legacy heroes and together they decide to form up a company of heroes. The task for the newly established company of heroes is to eliminate all hostile tiles. For the final mission there are a group of Deepists wandering around a mountain pass, if the chosen gets defeated then the shadow hunter will join the fight as revenge.

Chapter 2
Concerned villagers ask the heroes to help them with the Deepists trying to recruit their young ones.

The heroes meet up with a concerned mother that hopes to stop the Deepists from recruiting her child, the heroes are reluctant to risk their lives for strangers but go anyway. The first task is to travel to the other town and talk with the villagers about the encroaching deepists which leads to one of the villagers joining the heroes against the Deepists. The task is to assault a Deepist encampment where they encounter a priest called the speaker, in the ensuing combat the mission is to take out the speaker while Deepists keep on respawning.

Chapter 3
The Deepists have raided towns and terrorized the villagers, the heroes fight off the invaders and repair the region of all the damages done.

For the first combat the Deepists have invaded a town the heroes were living in and started burning the place down. The heroes are tasked to take out all Deepists including a wild mushrox. Once won the heroes discuss how the Deepists destroyed bridges, mountain passages and towns and decide to combat the Deepists they have to repair all the damages done by them. The overland task is to build 2 bridges/mountain passages, repair all towns and secure all sites. At the end the heroes end up being recognized for making the road safe for travel.

Chapter 4
The Deepists displeased with peace invite the heroes for a meeting to talk out their differences which the heroes accept.

The Deepists are unhappy with the peace and request a meeting with the heroes or threaten to disturb the peace once more. At the meeting the heroes encounter the Deepist monarch underground. The Deepist monarch invites the company to join in exchange for immortality which opens up the choice to have one of the heroes join him or all of the heroes refusing him. Regardless the deepist monarch leaves displeased and orders a group of Deepists and a large bow wielding minotaur to eliminate the heroes. The task is to escape the underground cave with all the heroes with the Deepists continuously respawning and blocking the exit. If the giant minotaur gets defeated, then he drops the Vost artifact bow which is optional and doesn't change the story. Once out the heroes are at war with the Deepists.

Chapter 5
The heroes invade the mountain where the deepists are stationed and take on the deepist monarch.

The heroes investigate an old tomb which housed the adventurer partners named 'the lovers'. Behind the tomb they find a cave which can be searched by one of the heroes that can take multiple months to complete. At the end the hero returns to inform them of the kingdom underground and decide to fight them head-on. Once they invade they meet up with the old hero that accepted the deal to join the Deepists and find out that they pretended to accept the deal to investigate the enemy, they'll end up joining the heroes and have Deepists tattoos on their bald head. If no one accepted the deal then the heroes invade normally. It's a large hall with a gate at the end of it, filled with mushrox, minotaurs and slingers that flank the sides across a 2 gap cliff. Once one of the heroes manage to reach the gate the whole company gets teleported to the royal chambers where they meet with the Deepist king and queen. The monarchs explain their situation and how they accepted the deal of a witch for immortality but the heroes end up fighting them anyway. For the final boss fight the heroes have to take down both the queen and king. The queen itself is a mystic with a lot of warding while the king is a warrior with plenty of armor, if the fight drags on then the Deepists will barge into the room from behind and attack the heroes as well. Once won the Deepist threat has been eliminated and the heroes decide to not spread the information that the Deepists monarch were the heroic 'lovers' in respect of their achievements.
