Fire damage counts as magic damage, and is mitigated by warding.

A unit receives 2 fire damage when they step into or pass through a tile on fire, or at the beginning of their turn if they are standing in a tile on fire.

Fire can spread between tiles containing debris.

A fire will burn out on the next turn if it is not on debris or interfused by a unit with Elementalist.

Using Interfusion on Fire will change it into a Blaze.
