The World map consists of a randomly generated region of tiles. Most of these tiles are explorable, but some are impassable.
As your heroes progress through each chapter of a campaign, more of the world map becomes accessible.
Explorable tiles
Explorable tiles consist of fields, forests, foothills, and swamps.
Overworld progression involves using your heroes to:
- scout unexplored tiles of the map
- clear away any enemy lairs or infestations
- construct stations for gathering resources
- prepare defenses to aid with incursions.
Explorable tiles may by separated by a river or mountain range. Heroes can build a bridge or mountain pass to provide a direct route between tiles.
Impassable tiles
Impassable tiles consist of oceans, lakes, and high mountains.
