Broadswipes is a Warrior ability.
In-Game Description
(Passive) Hero's melee attacks deal x damage to all other foes within range. (Also works with ranged theme attacks in melee range)
Upgrade
Broadswipes damage scales twice as much with Bonus Damage and Potency
Specifics
- Damage =
2 + 1/2(Bonus Damage + Potency)
- Upgraded damage =
2 + (Bonus Damage + Potency)
- Bonus damage and potency are both rounded down before being summed
- Upgraded damage =
- Range =
max(1.6 , Melee Weapon Range) + Long Reach
Notes
- Broadswipes cannot stunt.
- Broadswipes benefits from flanking and counts as an attack for setting up flanking.
- Deals physical damage which is reduced by armor.
- Damage is increased by Lover's Vengeance but not by Bloodrage or Viciousness.
- Broadswipes can apply some effects (e.g. Wyverntail, Wintershard, Baleblade, Blinding Attacks, Dagger 2x flanking bonus, extra damage to specific enemies).
- Does not apply Knockback, Shred from axes, or Grimblade's effect.
- Triggered by Melee weapon attacks and most Melee and Ranged Theme attacks that deal damage.
- Broadswipes requires a melee weapon OR at least one melee or ranged theme arm to work.
- Known Theme attack exceptions that do not trigger Broadswipes are Wrist Bolt, Falling Stars, Meteor Strike, and Tongue Whip+.
- Hitting an enemy outside of melee range with a ranged theme attack will trigger Broadswipes to hit enemies in melee range.
- Does not damage the primary target.
- Some area theme attacks like Sting and Cone of Fire consider the last target as primary, while others like Thorn Lash consider the first target as primary.
- Broadswipes activates first before most follow up effects, some examples below. Follow up effects will continue to hit 0hp targets killed by broadswipes.
- "Jumps" from Witherbolt & Jumpjolt
- Weapon stunt effects
- Flare-axe & Dreadscythe broadswipes-like effect
Tips
- Broadswipes is widely regarded as the strongest ability for high-level warriors. Stack enough Bonus Damage and Potency and it can become mass-murdering.
- Combine with Long Reach and/or spears to increase the number of targets within range. A spear will increase the range of Broadswipes attacks even if it is not used for the primary attack.
- A warrior with Broadswipes should ideally have the capability to perform at least two Broadswipe-triggering actions each turn.
- Frenzy triggers Broadswipes three times with one action.
