Status Effect

Status effects affect allies and enemies alike during combat. They can range from purely damaging to immensely impeding a hero's actions to helpful.
List of status effects

| Blinded | <name> will miss their next attack. |
| Deafened | -2 Bonus Damage and Potency |
| Dominated | On the enemy turn, this hero will move up to x tiles and attack an ally with a melee attack. Will not move through scenery. Adjacent allies can try to remove this effect. |
| Engaged | <shortName> is engaged, and must attack {0}. |
| Hidden | <shortName> cannot be seen by enemies. |
| Hobbled | Speed temporarily reduced |
| Pinned | <name> cannot move, and defenses are lowered. |
| Poisoned | <name> is poisoned and takes damage every turn. |
| Stasis | Cannot take any actions, cannot be targeted by foes. Stasis can be removed by an adjacent ally. |
| Stunned | <shortName> is knocked off balance and won't take any actions for a turn. |
| Shadowed | Next incoming attack will miss. +2 Speed, can move through scenery. Shadowed status removed on attack. |
Blinded

Deafened

Specifics
- Deafened cannot be stacked
- Shriek is an AoE ranged attack so multiple heroes can be targeted
- The Abjure stunt effect has its own version of the Deafened status effect that reduces outgoing damage by 2 instead of modifying Bonus Damage and Potency.
Dominated
Main article: Dominated
On the enemy turn, this hero will move up to x tiles and attack an ally with a melee attack. Will not move through scenery. Adjacent allies can try to remove this effect.
Specifics
- Engaged Heroes will only attack allies with melee attacks
- Allies have the chance to cure Dominated Heroes, success increases by relationship rank
- x tiles = heroes speed
Engaged
Main article: Engaged
<shortName> is engaged, and must attack {0}.
Specifics
- Only one enemy can be engaged at a time
- Warrior needs to keep up line of sight with the target
Hidden
Main article: Hidden
<shortName> cannot be seen by enemies.
Specifics
- Attacking out of Grayplane ignores both Warding and Armor
- Grayplane stays up indefinitely for the duration of combat
- If an enemy attacks or tries to walk through the hero or the hero attacks then Grayplane will be cancelled
Hobbled
Main article: Hobbled
Speed temporarily reduced
Specifics
- Hobbled can be stacked, increasing the duration and severity
- Each stack of Hobbled reduces speed by 2, down to minimum of 1 speed
- The number of stacks of Hobbled is reduced by 1 at the end of a unit's (side's) turn
Pinned
Main article: Pinned
<name> cannot move, and defenses are lowered.
Specifics
- Pinned can be stacked
- Pinned enemies can still attack
Poisoned
Main article: Poisoned
<name> is poisoned and takes damage every turn.
Specifics
- The amount of poison damage per turn can be stacked
- Poison damage is treated as true damage and ignores armor
- Poison lasts three turns, regardless of the unit
- Turn counter is reset when more poison is added
Stasis
Main article: Stasis
Cannot take any actions, cannot be targeted by foes. Stasis can be removed by an adjacent ally.
Specifics
- Allies can free a Stasis locked Hero, spending one action point
- Invulnerable is added in addition to stasis. (This unit cannot be damaged)
Stunned
Main article: Stunned
<shortName> is knocked off balance and won't take any actions for a turn.
Specifics
- Stunned can be stacked, each stack of Stunned adds another Turn to the duration
Shadowed
Main article: Shadowed_(Status_Effect)
Next incoming attack will miss. +2 Speed, can move through scenery. Shadowed status removed on attack.
